Stamp Out Hunger!
On Saturday, May 12, 2012, San Antonio’s letter carriers will Stamp Out Hunger across America, providing assistance to the millions of Americans who are struggling to put food on their tables every day. Now in its 20th year, the Stamp Out Hunger effort is the nation’s largest single-day food drive. In 2011, drive organizers across the country collected more than 70 million pounds of total food donations for the eighth consecutive year.
Brown bags will be delivered to all households in San Antonio in the days prior to May 12. Residents are asked to fill the bags with non-perishable food items and leave them by the mailbox on the morning of May 12 before their letter carrier stops to deliver the mail. Letter carriers will collect the donations and take them to the San Antonio Food Bank.
