Visit San Antonio’s Newest Farmers’ Market

November 3, 2010

We are proud to announce a new farmers’ market launching November 9 from 10 a.m.  – 2 p.m. at Main Plaza in the heart of downtown San Antonio. Main Plaza was named one of the top ten great public spaces in America by American Planning Association.

The San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) Farmers’ Market Association is certified by the Texas Certified Farmers’ Market Association and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). We are also a Go Texan farmers’ market according to TDA.

The SAFB Farmers’ Market Association will host its first farmers’ market in San Antonio at main plaza. The Main Plaza Farmers’ Market will include a variety of locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, organic meats, and other products. We will support local farmers and vendors while enjoying the open-air market and historical sites of San Antonio. This initiative will offer a wide variety of nutrition education to promote sustainability practices and increase the intake of fresh fruits and vegetables. We are very excited about this opportunity for the SAFB to lead the charge in making a difference in the lives of our local community. We look forward to seeing you on November 9 and hope you will be able to attend every Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
